BEST PART OF THE DISH – JAPANESE SOFT BOILED EGG WINNER!! THICK DELICIOUS PORK BONE SOUP BASE.
I’m officially going ramen crazy! You know those days where your just craving for a nice soup noodle, and the sound of wonton soup or beef balls and fish ball soup is just boring and too plain. Well Japanese Ramen is possibly the best option! Nicely tucked into the corners of Causeway Bay I discovered a new little Ramen restaurant called “Ramen Menzu” Don’t be fool by the little restaurant, it’s authenticity stems straight from Japan grabbing the ingredients as well as the exact preparation methods from their Mother store in Japan. Instead of a boring char chan teng lunch or dinner, pop by this little joint not only for it’s delicious authentic taste but it’s price also! For a reasonable $80 this little Japa
nese noodle joint offers thick and flavorful pork bone soup, where I could easily guzzle down the whole bowl to myself. The toppings are yummy but the stand out ingredient for me was the Japanese Soft boiled egg, it was so full of flavour and the yolk was just ooozing out , one spoonful of egg and noodle plus a little bit of soup was heaven in my mouth! I think I was so happy with the egg I ate 3 to myself!
Extremely simple menu system where it’s a simple checklist menu, just tick what soup base you would like, as well as providing a choice of texture in the noodles ( soft, standard, hard) to suit everyone’s chewing needs. As well as that you can choose the meat and garnish as well, if your big eater like me for a cheap $10 extra you can also add more toppings or meat!
One little tip for chilli eaters – I originally thought I was one, until I came here, only go for the one chilli, if you can really handle a nice burn and fat lips go for two chillies! Personally plain or 1 chilli is my favorite!
Clean Kitchen , extremely well prepared, and I love how they have 4 timers on the stove to control the exact noodle texture. 60 secs for the perfect Al dente, 50 secs for hard 2 min for soft In the plating section of the kitchen I love the way they have placed pictures to remind the chef of how to apply picture perfect plating to each dish, making every dish exact !
Yummy sides of pickled cucumber, seaweed and veggies!
MY FAVOURITE DISH OF ALL ! Menzu Tonkatsu soup Base + Al Dente (standard) noodle texture + Pork Topping
